MBA Coursework

The Master of Business Administration program at NC State prepares business executives for tomorrow's global marketplaces and technologies. The Jenkins MBA program provides students with a solid foundation in basic business management while also allowing them to specialize in an area of interest. Jenkins MBA students are prepared to confront global challenges with practical, technology-driven solutions by combining academic achievement and real-world experience. The MMB program allows students to enroll in NC State Jenkins MBA courses as well.

BEC 575:
Global Regulatory Affairs for Medical Products

This course introduces students to the quality systems used to meet the regulatory requirements for developing, testing, manufacturing, and selling medical products in the global marketplace. It provides a general background for all future employees in the medical products field, but is especially useful to students preparing for a career in the Regulatory Affairs or Quality Assurance departments within a pharmaceutical, biomanufacturing, or medical device company.

  • Describe the life cycle for medical products.

  • Compare and contrast the regulatory requirements of different markets.

  • Conduct an audit of a GMP manufacturing facility and document potential compliance issues and corrective actions.

MBA 585:

Topics in Bioscience Management

Business processes and strategies across the global BioSciences value chain, including the R&D realities, product life cycles, key elements of product discovery and development, intellectual property, regulatory trials, government approval, production, sourcing, logistics, sales, marketing, and customer service. The complete value chain of a new biotechnology-based product.

Worked in a small team throughout the semester to analyze CRO case studies and construct a final research paper.

"Evaluation of Business Challenges and Opportunities for Alternative Protein Market Trends"

BUS 554:

Project Management 

Life cycle view of organizing and managing technical projects, including project selection, planning, and execution. Methods for managing and controlling project costs, schedules, and scope. Techniques for assessing project risk. Use of popular project management software tools. Application of project management tools and methods to product development, software, and process reengineering projects.
